POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWS
Applications for post-doctoral or research engineer positions are invited in the context of a research program investigating the cognitive and neural processing of social (human-human) and nonsocial (human-object) interactions. The program is funded for 5 years by a European Research Council Starting Grant (ERC-STG, project: THEMPO) and is coordinated by Dr. Liuba Papeo at the CNRS Institute of Cognitive Sciences (Bron, Lyon).
Individuals with experience with fMRI, technical/analytical skills and proficiency in programming (e.g. Matlab, Python, Javascript, R) are strongly encouraged to apply. However, we will evaluate every candidate with a solid background in any domain of cognitive science or neuroscience.
The official language at ISC-CNRS is English, so speaking French is not a requirement.
The successful candidates will be involved in designing new studies, collecting and analyzing data, writing manuscripts, disseminating results and supervising students, in close collaboration with Dr. Papeo.
The commitment is for two years and the salary depends upon qualifications and experience, in compliance with the French law.
The ideal starting date is March 2018, but we will continue evaluating applications until the position is filled.
Further information on the Institution can be found
here.
To apply, please send your curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, the expected date of availability, and the names of two references by e-mail to Dr. Liuba Papeo (
liuba.papeo@isc.cnrs.fr).
Please enter “Post-doc application” in the subject of the email.
PHP CANDIDATE
We welcome applications from young candidates who have just completed or are going to complete their undergraduate studies within September 2018. We offer a three-year postgraduate training to obtain a Philosophiae Doctor degree in Neuroscience from the University of Lyon1.
The training is strongly research oriented. The candidate will conduct a project related to the topic of the program THEMPO (ERC-STG 2016), using behavioral research methods combined with fMRI, TMS or EEG. The project will be defined by the candidate and the supervisor Dr. Liuba Papeo together.
The program also offers courses on the foundations of neuroscience, both theoretical and methodological, and seminars of international researchers who regularly visit our institution and/or collaborate on our research.
The program is suitable for students with backgrounds in computer science, math, medicine, experimental psychology, engineering, physics, biology, philosophy and linguistics, as well as neuroscience proper. To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of a master degree (i.e. M2, M.Sc. or equivalent), by the starting date of the program, September 2018.
The official language at ISC-CNRS is English, so speaking French is NOT a requirement.
To apply, please sent a curriculum vitae, a certificate of university examinations taken (with marks), a final degree certificate (or an indication of the expected date of graduation), a motivation letter and the names and email addresses of two faculty members who can provide recommendation, by e-mail to Dr. Liuba Papeo (
liuba.papeo@isc.cnrs.fr).
